The Rooftop Child

I am in no respect, what society labels as a nimrod or a "dweeb",
no, in fact I prefer: lonesome traveler, the man who needn't companions
Without a doubt, sometimes its fatiguing, all this global exploration without an "apprentice"
and occasionally I am victim to the plague that is jokes and dumb middle-school witticism
But I, the man who persists so greatly that friends are not neccesary, has learned to adjust
I take no notice when my clothing is mocked as, rest assured, gingham shorts will be voguish soon
and its of no importance that my 3D specks are not pleasing to the general public
because one day, this solitary figure will uncover a treasure, oh yes
and the commons will crowd around and I will be the cynosure of all eyes
Females will exchange blows over who gets to spend time with me
and the boys, so popular back in the days, will scrounge for my attention
but until this day, the lonesome traveler must persist, valiant, determined and... alone.
