Office Observations - late night ruminations

The monotonous complaint of air-conditioning sets a known dreariness to this office room. The chairs, superimposed to create a professional semblance have been repositioned by the negligence of meeting attendees.  The minimalism of conforming colors that adorn the unsympathetic walls I know so well, today, form unequivocal symmetry, something I hadn’t previously perceived. Fibrous and aligned in a compulsively straight fashion, it seemed illustrative of a reserved milieu, blatantly rejecting diversity. Studious fingers, conditioned by the custom of uninterrupted urgency, incessantly tap; focused on the keyboard, print empty messages with the numbness of eventual resilience. Black plastic chairs pirouette on their fixed stands, as an uninterested foot jerks back and forth to the cadence of cultured serenity.  A spectrum of generic light focalizes itself onto the lustrous surface of a table, causing a balmy spotlight of energy: a memento of sunlit days, relaxed limbs and natural, undisturbed sleep. Windows encompass the lesser side of the room, offering insight into the appearances of a more enjoyable life and at the same time, being a keepsake, reminding one of the urgency of corporate life. Dully observing the computer screen, an imposing realization of exasperation initiates itself as the much-loathed automatic word correction device reminds me once more that after decades of repetition, my brain and body has acquire neither synchronization nor indisputable grammatical knowledge. Late at night, past the swing of the sun across the sky and into the immensity of the blanket of space,  I sit:  contemplating the emblematic undercurrents and formerly ignored symbols of a simple room and I find a new appreciation for the mundane, a treasure of unknown detail.
