Theater of the Absurd

Many a times we choose to relinquish what we don't have
choosing to abjure nothing as opposed to value
seeing fit the refrain of an unclasping fist

Your eyes discredit your words
truculent and bellicose, why don't you shy away as,
I cannot catch chicanery but
I can tell stories from event and tale from truth

Because one chromosome is all it takes
a future decided by the bifurcation of a gene
a restless reality that befriends the ludicrous
How can i persist as an accident of science?

Oh don't be churlish, no
hand is being offered to you but your own
persistence and circumlocution are weapons of the impaired
and circumnavigation remains an art unknown to mine
isn't it miraculous that one survives the day?

Reading lacking comprehension may be deleterious
but comprehension lacking reading may be even more so
perhaps the pen should learn to forego its diffidence
embrace the fantastic,
as a poetic vigilante roams the page, searching for extravagance

Reader: don't be enervated by the labyrinthine nature of my words
but embrace their snaking, the pace of letters
and appreciate that you've been played and fallen gladly to tricks
reconcile with the ominous, an acceptance that we survive on subterfuge

In my world, the absurd has been enfranchised
and rightly so,
because an epiphany of deeper meaning is not much fun
without a touch of delirium on the side
